The programme combined the annual meetings of project partners with the workshop “Developing Attractive Research Careers: Aligning Institutional Policies with European Standards.”

During the three-day programme, the project results achieved so far and planned activities for the upcoming period were presented, with a particular focus on the development of research careers, European standards, the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), intellectual property and technology transfer, as well as opportunities for developing new research projects and international partnerships.

A dedicated part of the workshop focused on the exchange of experiences and examples of good practice, as well as the results of the partner institutions’ Gap Analyses. Through interactive group work, participants discussed key challenges and possible solutions for improving institutional support for researchers and creating a more attractive research environment.

The event also included a discussion of Deliverable D1.1 – Review of Current Practices and Policies with Gap Analyses, one of the key results of Work Package 1 (WP1), led by SERDA. The document provides an overview of existing practices, policies and challenges related to the development of research careers in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.

A dedicated part of the workshop focused on the exchange of experiences and examples of good practice, as well as the results of the partner institutions’ Gap Analyses. As part of the project, individual HRS4R Gap Analyses were prepared for six partner research organisations, in accordance with the standard European Commission template adapted to the activities of the AttractAdria project. Through interactive group work, participants presented the results of the analyses and discussed key challenges and possible solutions for improving institutional support for researchers and creating a more attractive research environment.

It is important to emphasise that the University of Sarajevo is the project coordinator.

By organising this three-day event, SERDA reaffirmed its active role in the AttractAdria project and its contribution to strengthening cooperation between research institutions, policymakers and other relevant stakeholders, with the aim of developing a higher-quality and more attractive research environment in the Adriatic region.
